Keezhadi and Indus Valley Civilization

Vanakkam. The goal of this site is to reveal the findings of Indus Valley Civilizations, mostly by Iravatham Mahadevan (whose field is epigraphy, Tamil-Brahmi and Indus Valley Script) and Asko Parpola (FInnish scholar whose specialty is Indus Valley). Both these scholars have done years and years of research with the Indus Valley script and culture. Now that we have found out that Keezhadi has the same ancient language and belongs to the same people, it is important to learn what these scholars have discovered and shared through their books, lectures and papers.

It is our great loss that Iravatham Mahadevan died in 2018. Hopefully, the good work he started will be continued. He has blessed us with incredible research findings. His words, ” The Civilisation evolved from indigenous cultures over a long period of time from Early Neolithic in the 8th millennium BCE.  It spread over a million square kilometres in the North-West regions of South Asia. It lasted from ca.2600 to 1900 BCE during its mature urban phase and from ca.1900 to 1300 BCE during the period of its decline and final disappearance.  There is substantial archaeological evidence to support the view that the Indus Civilisation was pre-Aryan”.

There is an excellent book written by Dr. M. Rasamanikkanar titled, ‘Mohenjo-Daro, the mound of the dead’. Even though the title is in English, the book is written in Tamil. It is available on Amazon.com.

Asko Parpola’s books ‘Deciphering the Indus Script’ and ‘The Roots of Hinduism – Early Aryans and the Indus Civilization’ are great books. They are both available on Amazon.com

We owe great gratitude to Amarnath Ramakrishnan who has done a great job exposing the findings at Keezhadi.

Scholarly works that link Keezhadi with the Indus Valley Civilization will also be presented here in due course. More articles will be added in this site in the coming weeks.

We are very fortunate that Rojah Muthiah Library has hosted Iravatham Mahadevan’s work in their site – http://rmrl.in/?page_id=1044
